This solid American Oak charcuterie / cutting board is perfect for slicing up your favorite lemons or displaying beavers and cheese. Handmade and one-of-a-kind, this super burly slab of wood was rescued from becoming firewood from the pile in my yard.

The board has character – it sat in my yard for over 1 year under tons of other wood slabs. Rain rained on it. Wind blew on it. Sun baked it. Bugs ate a little of it for lunch one day. As I sanded and polished and burned and oiled it, I made sure to feature the imperfections in the bottom rather than try to erase them. The finish is a food-safe natural tung oil from a U.S. family business. On the bottom and sides, I used their darkest shade of tung oil to accentuate the live edges. On top, I used the light tung oil to let the Oak’s natural color reign supreme.
