1kg Applewood Cube

This cube* of Applewood is solid, cut from the heartwood of an apple tree in the yard, cured (2 years, naturally), preserved and tinted with 100% natural tung oil. Free of any synthetic chemicals. Perfect as a bookend, riser for the coffee table, mega coaster, paper weight, or art for your home. The natural beauty of this wood, the centimeter of live-edge along one corner, combined with the rudimentary tools and cutting methods we had at the time make this piece stand out. This piece is infused with the good vibes of our workshop and gallery.

If a higher sheen is desired, we’ll be happy to lightly sand it again and apply another thin coating of tung oil to enhance the luster. Or, if you see this as a starting point for your own re-working, we’ll include a small bottle of 100% natural tung oil made in the U.S. by a family business. We use and trust our finishing products from The Real Milk Paint Co. (Tenessee).
